Bye-Bye Bones
Bones
Skeletons
Delicate bird bones, great cattle hips, long, long, long giraffe necks—vertebrae
Clean and white
Curving, rounded, pointed, sharp
Frightening beauty
I always took them for granted
With the crash
After the fall
Under the rock
Broken
Splitting perfections
Red, so bloody
Piercing my skin
My beautiful bones. Ruined.

and strikes me now as premonition.
Have you ever written something and then felt it somehow
...came into being?
